In March of 2021 Tyre Means plead guilty to one count of arson and one count of possession of a stolen firearm. His charges stemmed from the May 30th, 2020 protests in downtown Seattle. At his sentencing Tyre was given a 5 year federal sentence. At his sentencing hearing, Tyre told the judge “the days of just rolling over to police brutality are over.” He likes to read and write, make poetry and rhymes and he says “this time that I am away from my family friends and loved ones is only making me stronger as a man. I have no regrets.”
